Apple’s new silicon M1X seems promising

Apple will soon be launching the new MacBook Pro in the second quarter of 2021. As we already know, when Apple launches its new products with a bang of features, what the tech community is looking forward to is not the features of the new MacBook Pro but the new silicon, which will be powering the machine.

According to sources, Apple’s new silicon will be called M1X, and rumours suggest that it will be mighty than the already awesome M1 chipset (holy sweet mother). I am excited.

CPU Monkey shared some specifications of the new silicon, which will be launch by apple. According to the specifications, the rumoured M1X will be a 12-core CPU. It will be divided into 8 firestorm performance course and 4 ice storm power-efficiency crouse.

The clock speed is 3.20GHz, but it might be more. We also have heard that there will be a GPU and that the  M1X will sport 16 cores and 256 execution units. If the rumours are true, then the M1X will have twice as many performance cores as the M1, twice the number of GPU cores, and twice the number of execution units.

It is also possible that users can hook up to three external monitors for maximizing their workspace real estate. All the specifications show that the next Apple Silicon is a major upgrade over the M1 but at the cost of increased TDP. It is rumoured that the TDP could operate at 35W, and depending on the workload, that value could go up to 45W if required.

It is good news that RAM is increased to 32GB, so for memory-intensive applications, the new chip will serve your purpose adequately. It will be launched in the 2nd Quarter of 2021 and we expect that there will be more information about apples new silicon very soon.
