Apple is progressing rapidly in the transition of its products to its custom chips and as new lineups are rising it’s natural for some old ones to say goodbye to the market. As is the case with the Intel-based 21.5-inch iMac.

Apple is yet to publicly announce the discontinuing of the series however, at this point, it did not matter because we suspect no one was interested in getting that device anymore, especially when they are far better options to choose from, such as the new redesigned M1 iMac.

The Intel-based iMac included a 2.3GHz dual-core 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, along with 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, and Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 for $1,099.

as of now, you cannot find any 21.5-inch iMac configurations on Apple’s website, however, you can at least spot three 27-inch 5K iMac models, so for those interested to purchase the device, we advise to hold your horses, as better options are on the horizon.

Well, Apple’s new arsenal is pretty powerful with the 2021 MacBook Pro range delivering more firepower thanks to Apple’s M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets. And users also need to wait only a little while longer to be greeted by the 2022 iMac Pro.

According to rumors, we have the latest specifications of the upcoming Apple’s iMac Pro and we know that the device will sport a 27-inch mini-LED screen with ProMotion support. The machine will have the same display as the 2021 MacBook Pro models, with the refresh rate climbing to 120Hz when required.

Another interesting feature which the new iMac Pro is rumored to bring to the table is that it will be offering the M1 Pro and M1 Max configurations, along with a various assortment of ports like Apple’s latest MacBook Pro family.
