Apple Watch X: In the early half of September, Apple will hold a special event to unveil the new iPhone 15 series and Apple Watch Series 9. While the iPhone 15 is expected to be improved, the Apple Watch Series 9 will retain the same appearance as the Series 8. According to reports, the company is contemplating a drastic design overhaul for next year’s Apple Watch X, similar to how the iPhone X was presented on its tenth anniversary.
In terms of design changes per launch scheme, the Apple Watch X will receive the same treatment as the iPhone X. The iPhone X, with its low bezels and Face ID embedded in the notch, was a highly futuristic product at the time. On the iPhone 7 series, it went from a massive forehead and chin to an all-screen design. While Apple may narrow down the bezels on the Apple Watch X, the wearable’s chassis will be rebuilt with a smaller form factor.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman writes in his monthly Power On email that Apple will unveil the Apple Watch X next year with a substantial overhaul to commemorate the product line’s tenth anniversary.
Apple is developing a smaller shell for the Apple Watch X. This indicates that the wearable will have a lower overall profile than the current model and the upcoming Apple Watch Series 9.
Aside from that, Gurman’s sources say the corporation is working on a new magnetic band-linking technology. Because the existing slide and lock mechanism takes up a lot of room, the company is considering switching to a new approach. This space could be used to house a larger battery or other components with specific use cases.
According to the system, you will no longer have to slip the band to lock it with the wearable. Instead, the business might embed magnets within the Apple Watch, similar to how it debuted MagSafe on the iPhone. These magnets might be linked to the magnets in the rumored bands, allowing for a smooth connection without the need for sliding maneuvers.
Gurman comments that he is unsure whether the Apple Watch X will be announced next year or in 2025. This is because the original Apple Watch was announced in 2014 and released in 2015. However, given it was a first-generation product, the business may have needed time for software development. We believe that the Apple Watch X will be released next year.
