These reports suggest that Apple has initiated discussions with Chinese suppliers, as well as Samsung and LG, regarding the integration of OLED displays in future versions of the iPad mini and iPad Air. The objective is to initiate large-scale production of these components by the end of 2025, with potential product releases in early 2026.
The Upcoming iPad Mini and iPad Air with OLED Display
This development aligns with a recent report from the technology research firm Omdia, which provided insights into Apple’s strategies for procuring iPad display panels. The transition to OLED technology for Apple’s mid-range tablets is seen as part of its broader OLED initiative, set to commence in 2026.
It’s essential to note that Apple’s commitment to incorporating this advanced display technology in its mid-range tablets is not yet set in stone.
