Apple is expected to make at least two new product announcements at its Apple Spring Event, held between March and June, including a new Mac Pro and its long-awaited AR/VR headset. Apple frequently introduces a new iPhone colour or two in the spring, and that trend may continue this year.

This year, the Cupertino giant is widely expected to release a new Mac Pro with Apple silicon. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the high-end desktop computer will be available with a new M2 Ultra chip, making it the fastest Mac ever.

He anticipates that the new Mac Pro will be the same design as the 2019 model, but will lack user-upgradeable RAM. A higher-end “M2 Extreme” chip for the computer appears to have been cancelled but we will finally see a new Apple Silicon-powered Mac Pro at the Apple Spring Event.

Gurman previously stated that Apple was internally testing a new Mac Pro running macOS 13.3, which is expected to be released this Apple Spring Event

Given this, Apple could release the new Mac Pro and macOS 13.3 in March or April, but there is still no definitive timeframe for the computer’s release this year, so the new Mac Pro could be announced at WWDC 2023 in June or later in the year.

For years, Apple has been rumoured to be working on a headset with both augmented reality and virtual reality capabilities, and rumours suggest the device will be released in 2023. Ming-Chi Kuo, a reputable Apple analyst, predicted last month that the headset would make its debut at an Apple event this spring or at WWDC in June.

According to reports, Apple’s headset will include dual 4K micro-LED lenses, over a dozen cameras, M2 and H2 chips, advanced eye and hand tracking, a physical knob similar to the Digital Crown on the Apple Watch, an iOS-like interface with a grid of apps, the ability to function as an external display for a Mac, and other features. Hopefully we can see this VR headset in action during the upcoming Apple Spring Event soon.
