Apple has finally planned to announce the much-awaited redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. The upgrades include mini-LED displays in an all-new design paired with a faster Apple silicon processor. DigiTimes reported that the announcement will happen in the September of this year.
Apple is reported to have been planning a significant investment in reinforcing the mini-LED production. Like all years, September might also see Apple’s annual iPhone event. Apple’s plan seems to unveil its redesigned MacBook Pros at the event.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman Apple will be rather quiet regarding any new product announcements until it launches the new iPhones this fall. DigiTimes also reported that the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will hit shipment peaks this coming October. This makes the September announcement even more imminent. While suppliers of mini-LED displays are continuing to run dry, Apple might be making huge calls this fall.
This means Apple again plans to announce a product a month before it begins shipment. The one thing for sure is that the redesign will be radical. The new MacBook Pros might come with a flat-edged design, additional ports (eg. HDMI, SD-card slot reader). It can also feature a faster iteration of the M1 Apple silicon chip. In addition to this, a brighter and more vibrant display could be a part of the package considering the use of mini-LED technology.
