Apple Music Classical is a new standalone music app from Apple. The app, which is tailored to classical music, will be available for download later this month. On March 28, Apple will release the app worldwide, and it will be available for download from the company’s App Store. Apple’s new standalone music app is already available in the app store, and users can set it to download automatically whenever it becomes available by clicking the ‘Get’ button.
Users can access over five million tracks, hundreds of curated playlists, thousands of exclusive albums, insightful composer biographies, deep-dive guides for many key works, intuitive browsing features, and much more through the app.
Apple is collaborating with some of the world’s most prolific classical music artists and renowned classical music institutions to bring new, unique, and exclusive content and recordings to Apple Music Classical listeners at launch and beyond.
In its release, Apple notes, “Apple Music Classical makes it quick and easy to find any recording in the world’s largest classical music catalogue with fully optimised search, and listeners can enjoy the highest audio quality available, and experience many classical favourites in a whole new way with immersive spatial audio.”
Apple Music Classical subscribers will also be treated to brand new exclusive artwork, including a series of one-of-a-kind, high-resolution digital portraits.
Users can download portraits of Ludwig van Beethoven, Frederic Chopin, and Johann Sebastian Bach from Apple website. Users will need an Apple Music subscription, which includes the Individual, Student, or Family plans, or an Apple One subscription to access Apple Music Classical.
All iPhone models running iOS 15.4 or later can access Apple Music Classical. Apple Music Classical will require an internet connection to be accessed, and the standalone app will be available on Android smartphones soon.
