## MacBook Pro M5 Pro & M5 Max — What’s Actually New?

Both Pro models inherit the same sleek chassis but get meaningful internal upgrades. The **three Thunderbolt 5 ports** alone are a game-changer — each capable of 80 GB/s data transfer, making the MacBook Pro a serious hub for high-resolution external displays, fast NVMe SSDs, and studio-grade peripherals.

The M5 Max’s **614 GB/s memory bandwidth** — double that of the M5 Pro — makes it a beast for 8K video editing, 3D rendering, and AI workloads. If your daily workflow pushes RAM-intensive tasks, the 128GB ceiling is the real headline here.

Both models ship in **Black and Silver** and are available to order now.

## MacBook Air M5 — The Everyday Powerhouse Gets Smarter

The Air’s upgrade is more subtle but equally impactful for everyday users. The biggest win? **Base storage now starts at 512GB** — finally addressing the long-standing criticism of Apple’s 256GB entry point. Neural accelerators in the M5 chip improve AI task handling noticeably, and the bump to 153 GB/s memory bandwidth over the M4’s 120 GB/s is felt across multitasking. Available in **Starlight, Sky Blue, Midnight, and Silver**.

## Bonus: Studio Display XDR Also Launched

Apple surprised everyone with the **Studio Display XDR** — a 27″ 5K mini-LED display with 120 Hz refresh rate, 2,000 nits peak brightness, 2,000+ local dimming zones, and Thunderbolt 5 support. The closest thing to a consumer Pro Display XDR Apple has ever made.
