As we know, Apple will most probably be launching its new MacBook Pro models later this year and these new devices will also be powered by Apple’s silicon. This will be yet another step from the Cupertino giant in its transition from Intel processors.
There are lots of rumours and information going on the internet about the upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. However, one of the biggest rumours is that Apple might be looking to ditch the Touch Bar in the upcoming lineup.
For now, these are all but speculations at this point, however, a new concept has emerged on the internet that replaces Touch Bat on the MacBook Pro models with a dock or case for Apple Pencil. This new concept is based on the fact that Apple has recently filed a new patent in which the Cupertino giant has described a retainer for its Apple Pencil which will be situated in the place of the Touch Bar.
Taking into consideration this new patent, the designer Sarang Sheth has created a new MacBook Pro concept showing off how the new patent will look like. In his creation, the MacBook Pro does feature a smaller fraction of the Touch Bar.
There are also reports that the MacBook will feature touch gestures using the Apple Pencil and the smaller Touch Bar will carry functions like Siri and quick access to other apps. The concept of the MacBook Pro only gives us a glimpse at what the reality will be. However, if Apple thinks of surprising us and launches a MacBook Pro model with touchscreen capabilities, then this will be awesome.
“The present invention relates to incorporating an Apple Pencil that is removably mounted to a MacBook keyboard. While the Pencil is in its retainer it could act as a mouse to move a cursor. Uniquely, a high-end lighting system is built into the retainer and the Apple Pencil wherein the Pencil can replace the top F-Key row with the function key symbols illuminated on Apple Pencil with full functionality.”
