New 24-inch iMac

The new 24-inch iMac with the M3 chipset was unveiled by Apple today at its “Scary Fast” online event. Interestingly, the iMac, which debuted in 2021 with the M1 chipset, had not received an update in the previous two years. It now skips over the M2 generation and goes straight to the M3, which is the third generation.

Apple states that the M3-powered iMac has up to twice the power of the previous M1 model while maintaining a nearly same form.

The new iMac is 4.5 times faster than the previous 21.5-inch Intel iMac thanks to Apple’s M3 silicon, which is the main upgrade here. Up to eight cores of CPU and ten cores of GPU can be installed on the M3 processor. Additionally, the chipset enhancements make hardware-supported ray tracing and mesh shading possible, improving gaming and creative operations like editing photos and videos.
