# Apple is working on its new “Mobile Robot Companion”

According to people with knowledge of the topic, Apple has devoted teams investigating its entry into the field of personal robotics, which may prove to be one of its dynamic “next big things.”

The corporation withdrew from the electric vehicle sector recently, despite having invested in it for several years. Nevertheless, it appears that there is no connection between these two choices.

Apple is reportedly looking on using [AI techniques](https://technosports.co.in/?s=AI+techniques+&post_type=post)to enable robots to “navigate cluttered spaces within people’s homes.” It seems that Apple had planned to build robots that can “handle chores, like cleaning dishes in a sink,” but Gurman predicted that these kinds of tasks will be beyond the reach of robots this decade because of “extraordinarily difficult engineering challenges.”

According to Gurman, one concept for the tabletop gadget was to have a display that could “mimic the head movements” of someone having a FaceTime video conversation. However, he said that they has encountered difficulties with “balancing the weight of a robotic motor on a small stand,” and that there has been discussion among the executives as to whether or not to create such a gadget.

While these initiatives are still in their early phases and there is uncertainty around the goods’ ultimate release, they are under increasing pressure to find new sources of income. The projected profitability of a venture into mixed-reality goggles is expected to emerge over several years, following the February termination of an electric vehicle project.

That being said, it’s become harder to imagine a product that can equal the iPhone’s enormous success, which accounted for 5% of the company’s $383.3 billion in sales last year.
