In contrast to struggling Android handsets, Apple has increased its orders for iPhone 14 components, according to DigiTimes.

According to reports, Apple has reportedly upped its component orders from suppliers ahead of the September introduction of the iPhone 14 series. In stark contrast, supply chain sources who spoke to DigiTimes claim that several Android businesses continue to experience slow sales.

Apple is thought to be the only smartphone provider with consistent sales over the past few months and a discernible year-over-year sales increase.

Due to strong sales of the current iPhone lineup, Apple increased planning for later this year after initially reducing chip orders for the iPhone 14 models in anticipation of declining market demand. This is consistent with a story from earlier this month that claimed Apple’s iPhone 14 models were expected to perform even better than the iPhone 13 series in terms of sales.

When new models are released in September, iPhone sales typically slow down in July and August. However, according to reports, shipments of the iPhone 13 were one-third higher in July this year than they were at the same time last year, indicating that the device continues to enjoy strong demand. According to reports, Apple has told its suppliers that the iPhone 14 would launch with better initial sales than the iPhone 13.

In contrast, as demand for Android-powered smartphones has decreased over the past year, the mid-to low-end of the market has struggled. This is demonstrated by the fact that MediaTek, a provider of Android chips, has reportedly seen clients reduce their orders by as much as 30%.

The iPhone 14 range is reportedly already in trial production by Apple, and the company intends to start full production in August before the introduction in September.
