Apple iPad Mini 7: Rumored Specs, Design Updates, and Expected Release at September 9 Event

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 16 lineup, Apple Watch X, and new iPad mini 7 at its “It’s Glowtime” event on September 9th. Much about the iPhone and Apple Watch are known, but there has been very little talk of what to expect with an iPad mini 7. For its part, the iPad mini 7 would be in line to keep a similar external look as it has had with its most recent significant overhaul not too long ago. The new model will feature an 8.3-inch display with thinner bezels, similar to the iPad Pro or Air models we’ve seen including Touch ID in a Power Button and a front camera on the top landscape side of the device.

This could include fixing the jelly-scrolling problem witnessed in the current model, where one side of the screen refreshes more quickly than the other. While not a hardware issue, it has been a major pain point for customers. The iPad mini 7 could come with a more powerful processor from Apple, likely the A17 Pro or even an A18 Pro chip that helps boost its AI capabilities. Those advanced features will also require at least 8GB of RAM, so the new chip is likely to be paired with upgrading memory, as well.

The iPad mini 7 is anticipated to support Wi-Fi 6E for faster internet speeds and Bluetooth 5.3 for improved device connectivity. It could also come with compatibility for the Apple Pencil Pro, widening accessory options on it as well. Apple could spice things up by offering a few new, more colorful options for the redesigned iPad mini 7. It might appear at the September 9 event, if not it could launch before the end of the year maybe right alongside the M4 MacBook Pro.
