Apple iPad (2019) with 10.2-inch Retina display announced for $329

New Apple iPad (7th-generation) with 10.2-inch Retina display launched, starts at Rs.29,900 in India

At the Apple event last night, the Cupertino giant did announce a lot of its products including their flagship iPhone 11 and the affordable as well handy iPad (2019). This year’s iPad is the 7th instalment of this iPad legacy.

We did experience an affordable yet productive iPad last year with the 6th gen model. The new iPad features a 10.2-inch Retina display with 2160*1620 pixel resolution. Apple claims that the iPad’s enclosure is made from 100 per cent recycled aluminium.

The new 7th-generation iPad is compatible with the full-sized Smart Keyboard and first-generation Apple Pencil. This new iPad is powered by Apple A10 Fusion SoC which is just a bit less powerful than the A10X Fusion chip found in the 2nd-gen iPad Pro. It has an M10 coprocessor that backs the A10 chip.

It’s retaining the larger bezel design with Touch ID and the new iPad will be stuck with the Lightning connector. Apple says that this new iPad weighs at just over 1 pound (around 483 grams) which is insane!

The new iPad comes has an 8MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and can capture 1080p videos at 30fps. Also, there’s the 1.2MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture with all the standard iPad recording and photography features you’d expect.

Apple has stuffed a 32W hour battery onto the new budget iPad. It is said to deliver battery that can run for up to 10 hours while web surfing, video watching and audio streaming. Also, the 7th gen iPad is the first Apple device to feature the latest iPadOS out of the box.

The newer and bigger iPad 7th gen will cost $329 for the base model with only WiFi & 32GB of storage. Pre-orders have already started in the US, and shipping will start from September 30, the day when the sales will start.

The Wi-Fi + Cellular base model is priced at $459 and for education users, Apple is offering the new iPad at $299 only.
