Apple Car mass production could be delayed till 2028, hints Ming-Chi Kuo

We have heard talks about apple working on its AI-powered car for months now. But now recent reports indicate that the Cupertino giant will finally unveil its first innovation in the field of Automobile in September of next year. Previously it was reported that Apple cars would come out in 2023, but according to fresh sources, the production plan has been pushed to overdrive.

According to sources, the plan has been put into overdrive, meaning that we could see the product much earlier than expected. For the production of its Apple Car, Apple has teamed up with unnamed Taiwanese supply chain partners. And they are expected to mass-produce the necessary components by as early as Q2, 2021.

Sources also suggest that the Cupertino giant runs a secret operation, where it’s testing several movable prototypes of its car project on the California roads. The company received a permit to test out self-driving vehicles back in 2017. Apple is working closely with TSMC on self-driving chips and is said to be in “preliminary cooperation negotiations” with popular automotive suppliers to fulfil its plans.

According to our previous report, the company is hiring staff from big firms like Tesla and others to work on the project. If the rumours about Apple launching its car in 2021 is indeed true that it might provide a little sneak preview of its Apple Car venture.

But the success behind Apple Car is its new battery design that could “radically” reduce the cost of batteries and increase the vehicle’s range. The new venture will be a challenge for Apple, as it manufactures millions of products each year. But the products are assembled across the globe. The real challenge for Apple will be to establish the supply chain for its Car.

“If there is one company on the planet that has the resources to do that, it’s probably Apple. But at the same time, it’s not a cellphone.”

As of now, no other news has been released regarding Apple’s new car. For any upcoming updates, stay tuned.
