Apple, in the first half of this year, becomes the global smartwatch market leader again, same as the last year and this is in terms of both the volume and value. The fresh research report by Counterpoint is saying Apple Watch shipment is hiked by 22% around the globe in the time range of January to July. The fastest growths are spotted in Europe and North America region. Fifth-gen models, maybe, are the main reasons behind this growth.
Nearly 42 million smartwatches are shipped during the past six months and generate 20% more revenue than earlier.
Rather than Europe and North America, India was also one of the countries with great demand. The wearable shipment grew here by 57% as per the same period of last year. On the other hand, Europe faced a 9% growth and for the US it is 5%. As per Sujeong Lim, the lead analyst of Counterpoint, the most affected regions of COVID-19 “saw a healthy growth in smartwatch shipments which offset the decline in other markets”.
Huawei gains 57% of YoY growth in terms of shipment volume. It’s quite surprising as the company is not in a good global state currently. The main reason for this result is the Watch GT2 series launched in China and the rest of Asia.
Lastly, one of the most popular brands among us Amazfit and Xiaomi is continuing with 51% and 47% YoY growth respectively.
