When a user asks a question or receives another prompt, Siri will have the ability to display ChatGPT answers immediately. Users of Apple’s system-wide Writing Tools feature will also be able to generate text and graphics with ChatGPT. According to Apple, OpenAI’s most recent GPT-4o model will power ChatGPT on its platforms.

ChatGPT will be available to users of iPhone, iPad, and Mac for free without the need to create an account. ChatGPT Plus members will be able to link their accounts to these devices in order to access paid services. According to Apple, IP addresses of users would be hidden and OpenAI will not retain ChatGPT queries made from its devices.

Apple is reportedly getting an observer position on OpenAI’s board in addition to its possible investment. This action would strengthen Apple’s partnership with OpenAI and bring the tech behemoth closer to the state-of-the-art developments in artificial intelligence.
