Eclipse, the newest season of Apex Legends, debuted yesterday. The new season—the game’s fifteenth overall—includes, as we’ve already said, the terraforming Legend Catalyst, the brand-new Broken Moon map, gifting, and more. The Laser Eviscerator and Cosmic Cannon reactive charge guns, among other things, are part of the new battle pass, which is also available.

The Eclipse battle pass has two flavors, just like previous battle passes. The basic edition, which costs 950 Apex Coins (USD 9.50), instantly unlocks the following items and gives users access to the battle pass’s premium rewards:

“As a teenager on Boreas, Tressa Crystal Smith and her coven of friends prayed for and by the light of their broken moon. But fate brought her up to it when she ran away at fifteen to join a terraforming crew working to rebuild the moon. She took to the work, feeling a connection between her work with ferrofluid and the rituals of her past. But the unwelcome arrival of the Apex Games brought her peaceful life to an end. Now she joins the Games as Catalyst, a Legend determined to bring change and defend her home. She can use her ferrofluid to reinforce doors, form piercing spikes, and obscure the playing field with high ferrofluid walls. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, and by the time her opponents make the call? It’ll be far too late.”

Passive: Barricade – Reinforce doors, strengthening them and locking them to enemies’ spaces where doors have been destroyed can also be reinforced.
Tactical: Piercing Spikes – Throw out a patch of Ferrofluid which turns into spikes when enemies are near. The catalyst remains immune to enemy spikes.
Ultimate: Dark Veil – Raise a permeable wall of Ferrofluid. Enemies who walk through it will be slowed and partially blinded for a brief time.
New Map: Broken Moon

“The Legends are dropping onto not only a Broken Moon but a divided one. Explore the beauty and serenity of the Eternal Gardens and Bionomics, or venture to the moon’s dark side and visit marred, industrial locales like The Perpetual Core and Breaker Wharf. Grapple, climb, or use jump stations to access new Zip Rails and traverse the jagged terrain. Built for locals to quickly navigate the slopes and chasms of Cleo, they’re just the thing for Legends in a hurry.”

The extended edition of the second battle pass is available for 2,800 Apex Coins (USD 28). With one difference, it is identical to the regular premium battle pass. Players who buy this version of the battle pass will automatically be boosted to Level 25 of the battle pass, providing them immediate access to the first quarter of the battle pass’s contents. For players who are pressed for time or are currently juggling several battles passes from other games while simultaneously keeping up with the Eclipse Battle pass, this is the ideal choice.

The Charge Rifle is getting the reactive weapon treatment regardless of the kind of premium battle pass you select, with two Legendary-tier reactive Charge Rifle weapon skins accessible at levels 100 and 110 of the Eclipse battle pass. Reactive Legendary weapon skins can “evolve” in look as you score kills throughout a fight, which sets them apart from conventional Legendary cosmetics. The weapon skin’s “response” becomes more extravagant as you score more kills, frequently illuminating and/or moving. You can unlock the Laser Eviscerator reactive Charge Rifle at level 100, and if you work hard enough to reach level 110, you can also get the Cosmic Cannon reactive Charge Rifle.
