Anwar Ali has been given a no objection certificate (NOC) by the Player Status Committee of the AIFF for a return to Delhi FC. In the previous hearing, the court ordered that the termination of his four-year loan with Mohun Bagan SG was without just cause.
However, he has now been given permission to sign for East Bengal, with whom he declared that he has an agreement. His ability to play for them depends on the final ruling of the court in their next session on August 22.

Both East Bengal and Delhi FC have been given time till August 20 to submit their responses to the matter. But for now, he could possibly join the Torch Bearers since they have an agreement with Delhi FC for his transfer.
East Bengal have the Durand Cup to worry about, as well as the AFC Champions League 2 clash against Altyn Asyr.
Interestingly, Anwar Ali’s first match in red and gold could be against his former club, Mohun Bagan SG, if he can complete his transfer before next Sunday. But, the court ruling could complicate matters after their run prior to the ISL.
