Antonio Conte dropped some massive truth bombs in the post match press conference following Tottenham’s 3-3 draw vs Southampton. The manager hit out at the players after they bottled a 3-1 lead against the Saints.
The Italian had an outburst, where he questioned the players’ attitude, and the fact that the team hasn’t won a single title in over a decade.

Here is what the manager had to say about the entire situation, in quotes carried by Fabrizio Romano:
“We are not a team. We are eleven players that go into the pitch. I see selfish players, players that don’t want to help each other and don’t put their heart”.
“Until now I try to hide the situation but now, not anymore,” Antonio Conte said.
“Here’s always the same, every season. The club has the responsibility for the transfer market, the coach has responsibility. But the players, where are the players?”.
“I see only 11 players that play for themselves!”.
“They are used to it here at Tottenham. They don’t play for something important. They don’t want to play under pressure, under stress. It is easy in this way!”
“Tottenham’s story is this for 20 years, there’s the owner but they never won something. Why?”
“I see selfish players, players that don’t want to help each other and don’t put their heart into this”
“There’s no fire, no desire. You need to have this in every moment. When you are NOT a team, you can’t improve”.
“Here’s always the same, every season. No matter who’s the manager”.
“If they want to continue in this way, they can change the manager, a lot of managers, but the situation cannot change. Believe me”.
“Here we play for the badge. We play to make Tottenham fans proud of us. You need fire in yours eyes”.
“This is unacceptable also for the fans. They follow us, pay for the ticket and this performance is unacceptable”.
It is unlikely that Antonio Conte will still be the manager of the club next season. The decision was almost certain after their exit from the Champions League against AC Milan. Spurs couldn’t score a single goal in the second leg and crashed out in the Round of 16.
It is unclear who will replace Conte as of yet. But Spurs are on the lookout for replacements who can lead the team next season. There is a chance Mauricio Pochettino could return, while other young managers like Ruben Amorim of Sporting Lisbon have also been mentioned as possible options.
