Antoine Griezmann was recently linked with an exit from Atletico Madrid, following a disappointing individual season for the forward. But, he has seemingly confirmed that he will be staying at the Spanish capital for the coming season.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has mentioned that the forward will be continuing with Atleti for 22/23. And Griezmann liked the Italian’s tweet, possibly confirming the news for fans in the process.

Antoine Griezmann to stay at Atletico Madrid for the coming season

Antoine Griezmann is not in talks to join Athletic Club, despite rumours. It’s not even considered a possibility, as of today. ⛔️🇫🇷 #transfsrs

Griezmann only has one plan for next season… and it’s called Atletico Madrid, at his best level.

The France international only scored three goals and provided five assists in 29 La Liga games this past season. He has had to endure a difficult campaign on the pitch, and will be hoping to do better in the coming year. The expectation is the same from the rest of the team collectively.

Antoine Griezmann returned to Atletico on deadline day last season on a loan deal. He is still on his loan spell, and the Rojiblancos will have the option to make his return permanent in the summer of 2023. What they decide for the striker at that point will possibly be determined by his performances this next season.

Diego Simeone’s men finished third in the table this past season, behind rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona. Alvaro Morata has returned to the club, and could be the replacement for Luis Suarez, who has left the club at the end of his contract.
