Having scored the two decisive goals against Villarreal on Sunday, the Frenchman is confident that his team can win LaLiga as there are 6 games still left. The contest for the Spanish League has never this exciting as in 2021 because all of the 4 Spanish giants are separated by 1-2 points only.
In the meantime, Barcelona had one of their most difficult game away against the Yellow Submarines, and from the start, the Catalans looked promising. Still, Frenkie couldn’t convert the glorious chance in the early stages of the first half.
The Blaugranas went behind when Samuel Chukwueze opened the scoring, but almost instantly, Mingueza played an amazing ball over the top, and Griezmann made an intelligent run. Unlike many missed opportunities, we saw a lovely chip from Griezmann, and it was indeed one of the best goals from the Frenchman.
He was also there to grab his second goal after a poor backpass from Juan Foyth and made it 2-1 in the first half of the game. The world cup winner is in fine form this season, scoring 18 goals and 11 assists in all competitions so far, so, after the match, here’s what he had to say:
“We all want to win La Liga, but four teams are fighting for it,” Griezmann told Movistar.
“We will try to win all our games; it’s the only way to become champions. It won’t be easy, but we have the squad to achieve it.
“We are behind and we have to give everything to win the league.”
Obviously, Griezmann’s goals made Barcelona win the game, and it’s a crucial win in the title race as only 6 games are left in hand. If the Blugranas manage to win all of the six games, the LaLiga title is in their hands.
“We didn’t drop our heads, and we worked together,” the Frenchman added. “Before the goal, we had chances; scoring first makes it easier.
“I try to get between the centre-backs and to find space. It’s not my position, but it’s an honour to be at Barcelona with these teammates and to enjoy what we’re doing with goals, assists or hard work.”
