Newcastle United have reached an agreement with Anthony Gordon to extend his contract till June 2030. The new deal will see the winger become one of the best paid players at the club, since the hierarchy sees him as an important part of their future.

Several clubs including Liverpool were seemingly keen on signing the player this summer. However, Newcastle turned down several offers to keep him. And now, they are set to retain his services for the foreseeable future.

Gordon joined the Magpies from Everton in January 2023, and has since become one of the regulars on the teamsheet. He scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in the Premier League last season, having made 35 appearances in the league.

The 23-year-old has only scored once across six appearances in all competitions so far. However, he remains a valuable member of the squad.

His previous deal was set to run out in June 2026. And to avoid getting into a disadvantageous situation later on, Newcastle have decided to extend his contract so that he can enter his prime with them.
