Ansu Fati scores a brilliant goal on his return to Barcelona

Ansu Fati made his return to Barcelona in style with a late goal to win the La Liga game against Levante 3-0. The player was brought on as a substitute and scored in the 91st minute.

He made his return to the pitch after 322 days and was hoisted into the air by his teammates to celebrate. Moreover, he ran over the bench to thank the Barcelona team doctor for his recovery. The player donned the number 10 shirt that previously belonged to Lionel Messi who left at the beginning of the season.

He told Movistar: “I did not imagine a return like this. Here you always have to win. I am happy for the victory, we have a lot left. I thank the doctors and physios who have been with me. Also to the fans.

“I have thought about helping the team. I have also thought about my family, who have suffered these months. Also for the people of the club. They have been a great support for me in all these months.

“I am one more. I will try to add what I can. I will try to help the coach and be available to help.

New signings Memphis Depay and Luuk de Jong scored in the first half to give Barcelona the lead heading into the break. The victory will be highly appreciated by Barcelona fans after their disappointing run of form across all competitions. Moreover, Ronald Koeman will also feel more at ease after the reassuring victory at home.
