Angelino is all set to join Galatasaray from RB Leipzig, with personal terms agreed between the player and his new club. The player made 33 appearances this past season, and is now set for a new challenge away from Europe’s big leagues.
However, he is close to leaving the club in the coming days, with Galatasaray expected to agree a deal for his signature. The 26-year-old has had other proposals as well, but is only considering a move to Turkey now with talks narrowed down.
He has a contract until 2025 with the club, which should command a significant fee from the buying club.
Angelino to sign for Galatasaray from RB Leipzig
The former Manchester City left-back made the move to Leipzig in January 2020, before it was made permanent in 2021. He spent the 22/23 season on loan with Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, with David Raum going the other way.
A fee close to €17.5 million is being discussed between the two clubs, and should be finalised soon.
Raum now looks set to be the first-choice left-back for RB Leipzig, and Angelino has been put on the chopping block. The Spaniard is likely to get more playing time once he makes the move, which makes it all the more in his favour.
In addition to Angelino, Galatasaray are also close to completing the permanent signing of Mauro Icardi from PSG. The Turkish side have agreed a deal worth €10 million for the player, who will be joining on a three-year deal.
The negotiations for Icardi took place over the last few weeks with the starting amount at €25 million. But, it has now been completed for less than half that amount.
