Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement to sign Andrey Santos on loan from Chelsea for the 23/24 season. The move will not include a buy option as the player is considered an important part of their plans for the future. He is expected to get a significant amount of game time with the Tricky Trees to further his development in Premier League football.

Santos signed for Chelsea in January, but was unable to arrive in London due to a work permit issue. He was loaned back to Vasco da Gama for the remainder of the season and featured for the Blues in their USA preseason tour.

The midfielder was the top scorer for Brazil in the Sudamericano Sub-20 alongside Vitor Roque. He has shown immense talent at a very young age, and could develop into a massive talent in the years to come.

But due to the massive competition for time at Chelsea, Andrey Santos will have to acquire more experience. And a loan to a team like Forest is the best option for the Brazilian, who is yet to grow accustomed to European football.

Chelsea’s midfield also consists of Lesley Ugochukwu, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia. All these players are young and are expected to develop over the coming years. It will be interesting to see how many players live up to their potential considering they have signed very long contracts.
