Manchester United have finally completed the deal with Inter Milan to sign Andre Onana. The transfer fee involved will see United pay €50 million plus add-ons, to make him one of the top five most expensive goalkeepers of all-time. He has agreed a contract until 2028 with the Premier League club and is expected to officially sign the deal imminently.
Erik Ten Hag was keen on reuniting with the former Ajax player following the departure of David De Gea. And now, he has got the goalkeeper that he wanted to implement his system after a successful first season.
Andre Onana signs for Manchester United until 2028
Onana will become the second new signing for United after the club landed Mason Mount from Chelsea. The Cameroonian is very comfortable with the ball at his feet, which will allow the team to play out from the back.
Moreover, his performance in the Champions League final put several clubs on notice to try and sign him. But United have gone ahead and won the race for him, and will have a new number one ahead of their preseason tour.
After wrapping up the deal for Andre Onana, United will turn their attention to signing Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta as their new striker.
