The new *Anaconda* (2025) isn’t your typical creature feature remake—it’s a meta comedy-horror blend that follows childhood friends Doug (Jack Black) and Griff (Paul Rudd) as they attempt to recreate the 1997 classic in the Amazon rainforest. But what happens when real danger meets Hollywood dreams? Let’s break down the film’s surprising ending and Doug’s ultimate fate.

## The Climactic Battle

This collaborative victory represents more than just surviving—it symbolizes Doug and Griff mending their fractured friendship and learning to trust each other again.

## Doug’s Near-Death Experience

Doug gets swallowed by the anaconda earlier in the film but survives because the snake keeps victims alive to consume later. His friends initially mistake him for dead and even use his body as bait, leading to one of the film’s most tension-filled moments when he wakes up mid-plan.

## The Bittersweet Reality Check

After completing their unauthorized Anaconda remake, the group receives a cease-and-desist order from Sony, preventing theatrical distribution due to lack of legal rights. They manage to premiere the film at the Buffalo International Film Festival, but their Hollywood dreams seem crushed by corporate reality.

## Jennifer Lopez’s Game-Changing Cameo

In the film’s epilogue, Jennifer Lopez visits Doug at his home, revealing she watched their movie and loved it, then offers him the chance to direct an official Anaconda reboot. This cameo was filmed on November 17, 2025, making it the very last thing shot for the movie.

Doug’s reaction? He faints from the overwhelming news—a perfectly comedic ending to his wild journey.

## Post-Credits Surprise

The post-credits scene reveals that Carlos, the snake handler presumed dead after being attacked by the anaconda, is actually alive. This reinforces the film’s playful tone and the recurring theme that anacondas sometimes spare their prey.
