Bengaluru has always been a hotbed for technology and innovation, and now it can add esports to its list of triumphs. Ampverse, Asia’s premier gaming community and IP ecosystem, and DMI Finance recently wrapped up the dazzling College Rivals tour in the city.
The event brought together students from prestigious institutions like the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru Institute of Technology (BIT), Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management (DSATM), REVA University, and ATRIA Institute of Technology to celebrate esports’ thrill and camaraderie.
College Rivals Tour Bids Adieu to Bengaluru, Registration Crosses 70,000
The College Rivals tour has been a nationwide adventure, attracting an impressive 70,000+ registrations from passionate esports devotees. Bengaluru, in particular, saw a massive influx of participants, with more than 800 enthusiasts attending each day. This incredible turnout is a testament to the excitement and engagement that the tour has stirred within the esports community.
One person who played a significant role in sparking this enthusiasm was renowned esports athlete and streamer Payal Dhare, also known as Payal Gaming. She received a warm welcome from Bengaluru’s gaming community and personally invited students at Bangalore Technological Institute (BTI) to join in the fun at the event.
“I am truly honored and thrilled to be part of the College Rivals experience,” said Payal Gaming. “Joining the students in this competitive esports tournament has been an exhilarating journey, and together, we are conquering new horizons in the gaming world. College Rivals is not just about exciting competitions; it also opens doors to career opportunities for esports enthusiasts across India. I believe events like this will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aspiring gamers, paving the way for a vibrant gaming community in our country.”
The College Rivals gaming truck was the epicenter of the action, attracting over 14,000 registrations in Bangalore alone. Students across campuses were engrossed in interactive games and electrifying musical interludes. A particular highlight was the Rap Battle at ATRIA Institute, which perfectly encapsulated the event’s fusion of energy, music, and youth culture.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the support of partners like Philips, Jio Games, Glance, Nostra, and CrepDogCrew, who each added their unique touch to the esports competition.
The excitement from students and the buzz on social media have fueled the tour’s popularity in Bengaluru, amassing a total of 66 million views across platforms. As the College Rivals tour moves on to its next stop in Pune, it carries with it the momentum and excitement from Bengaluru, ready to discover the city’s finest young esports talents.
