AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 7 5800H outperforms Ryzen 7 4800H in latest Geekbench scores

AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 5000 series processors have been making their appearance on benchmarking websites. A few weeks ago, Ryzen 7 5800H laptop processor appeared on Geekbench’s benchmarking website, and we were disappointed with the rankings. But in AMD’s defense, since it was the processor’s first appearance, there were limited frequency test runs for the benchmarking scores.

But recently, AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800H notebook processor has again appeared on Geekbench, and this time it received some proper testing. As expected of AMD’s latest line-up, the processor’s performance increased tremendously after receiving the appropriate frequency test. Reportedly, the Ryzen 7 5800H achieved a performance increase over the Ryzen 7 4800H.

According to Geekbench results, the Ryzen 7 5800H processor has its eight cores clocked at 3.2 GHz, and its boost clocks reached 4.45 GHz. According to sources, the processor was tested on an Acer Nitro AN515-45 notebook equipped with a “CZ Scala-CAS” motherboard and supported by 16 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM.

Compared to the Zen2-based Ryzen 7 4800H, the Zen3-based Ryzen 7 5800H is 35% faster in single-core tests with 1475 points and around 15% faster in multi-core tests with 7630 points. The 4800H had managed to score up to 1204 points in single-core tests and up to 7565 points in multi-core tests.

As expected from AMD’s Zen3 architecture, the performance of the Ryzen 7 5800H is no joke and is a clear indication for Intel. The new notebook processor from AMD will go head-to-head with Intel’s Rocket Lake notebook processors. As to who will prevail, only time will tell. My money’s on AMD folks!
