The Red team introduced the AMD StoreMI technology for quite some time now and it is available for certain CPUs and motherboards. The software helps you accelerate your system performance by allowing you to merge a slower HDD with your faster SSD into one virtual drive.

The AMD’s StoreMI software helps to move data between both the storage solutions and eventually analyzes your recent data and moves it to the faster SSD. This obviously helps to increase system performance to some extent and this premium solution comes free with AMD CPUs.

This technique merges both the capacity and pricing advantages of traditional HDDs with the speed of modern NVMe or even SATA SSDs. There’s a huge improvement in games or application loading speeds due to this software.

Now with the new StoreMI V2 update, you get support for AMD’s 400 series chipset motherboards like the x470 and B450 ones. Initially, this, tech was only supported on the more expensive X570 platform, however, AMD has kept its promise to expand support to older motherboards as well. So the improved StoreMI V2 software will work on less expensive 400-series platforms also.

The software is free to download so if you have a B450 motherboard, you will be able to run small SSDs combining with your HDD, to increase the everyday performance. Although AMD’s original StoreMI software did have some issues, the StoreMI V2 fixes the known issues, so if you are a B450 or X470 motherboard owner download the software for free from here.
