AMD already announced a few weeks ago that it is developing its new mobility chips including the Radeon RX 6600M & the Radeon Pro W6600M for the mobility segment. The new chips will be based on the company’s RDNA 2 architecture.
AMD has not yet released any of its RDNA 2 based GPU for mobility platform. The GPUs, however, have appeared in several leaks so far but AMD is yet to confirm their specifications. However, the latest AMD GPU drivers have confirmed that the AMD Radeon RX 6600M is coming to the laptop segment and will be based on the Navi 23 XM SKU.
According to sources, the AMD Radeon RX 6000M line-up will start with the Navi 22 GPU and go down to Navi 23 & Navi 24 SKUs. Another leak suggests that the AMD Radeon Pro W6600M has the same naming convention as the Radeon RX 6600M, and is expected to feature a similar configuration but will be aimed at the mobile workstation segment with Pro driver support.
Rumors indicate that the AMD Navi 23 RDNA 2 GPU for the Radeon RX 6600M & Radeon Pro W6600M will feature up to 32 CUs or 2048 stream processors. Sporting up to 8 GB GDDR6 memory and running across a 128-bit bus interface with TGPs ranging between 65W-90W, the GPUs seem a bit overpowered for the mobility laptop segment.
