Back at Computex 2022, AMD announced a new 6 nm-based Mendocino APU combing Zen2 with RDNA2, and that seemed like a great solution for upcoming budget laptops. So, finally, the first APU to be actually spotted is the Ryzen 3 7320U that made its way to the Userbenchmark and is brought to the limelight by none other than @TUM_APISAK.

This is a budget Ryzen 3 quad-core processor with boost clocks up to 4.1 GHz (average), is based on an FT6 socket, this is basically a low-cost and low-power APU.

This appears to be the same configuration as AMD’s Van Gogh SOC, which is used to power the Steam Deck (handheld) console, however, this uses a better 6nm process. So, you can get good battery life with this APU obviously and will be targeted towards budget Windows laptops as well as Chromebooks.

The iGPU will be based on the RDNA 2 graphics architecture and will include a single WGP (Work Group Processor) that can support up to two Compute Units or 128 stream processors. AMD Ryzen 3 7320U features up to two RDNA2 Compute Units, we expect more leaks to come up when these new AMD Mendocino APUs launch at the end of this year.
