AMD has outlined its plans for multiple Ryzen 5000 CPUs designed for the AM4 platform, with the Ryzen 7 5700X3D and Ryzen 5 5500X3D slated for an early 2024 launch. A purported information leak from the Persian outlet, sakhtafzarmag, suggests that AMD is gearing up to introduce at least five new SKUs, including the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, Ryzen 5 5600X3D, Ryzen 5 5600GT, Ryzen 5 5500GT, and the Ryzen 7 5700, indicating a robust lineup for the AM4 CPU platform.

Delving into the specifications, the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D is expected to be a slightly scaled-down version of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, featuring 8 cores, 16 threads, and lower clock speeds of 3.0 GHz (Base) and 4.1 GHz (Boost). This chip will maintain a substantial 96 MB of L3 cache and a 105-watt TDP. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 5 5500X3D will offer 6 cores, 12 threads, a base clock of 3.0 GHz, boost clocks reaching up to 4.0 GHz, and the same 96 MB of L3 cache.

Given the nature of the first-gen 3D V-Cache chip, both chips are expected to have lower clock speeds compared to their non-X3D counterparts, as they operate within more constrained power and thermal limits. The 5700X3D is projected to have clock speeds approximately 400 MHz lower than the 5800X3D, while the 5500X3D is anticipated to be 300 MHz slower in base frequency and 400 MHz slower in boost frequencies.

These new SKUs are positioned to extend the longevity of the AM4 platform, offering mainstream users a compelling reason to remain within the ecosystem. Beyond the SKUs mentioned, it appears that AMD is contemplating the replacement of its existing Ryzen 5 5600G APU with the Ryzen 5 5600GT and the Ryzen 5 5500GT, with the “GT” nomenclature hinting at a modest upgrade.

Additionally, the Ryzen 7 5700 is expected to be introduced as an entry-level 8-core SKU, following the standard CPU architecture based on the Zen 3 core. All indications point to the release of these new chips by the end of January, possibly coinciding with the unveiling of the Ryzen 8000G AM5 Desktop APU family, with retail availability expected in early February.
