AMD introduced its next-gen 16% iPC increase in Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs running on the Zen 5 core architecture at COMPUTEX 2024. Among them, the God of War running the Ryzen 9 9900X and Ryzen 9 9950X “Zen 5” CPUs in the game demonstrated the performance as the in-game benchmark run 7900 XT GPU.
The New AMD Ryzen 9 9900x “Zen 5”
TechpowerUP had a shot at the gaming demo at the booth of AMD, where the Ryzen 9 9900X performed well. In the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora game benchmark, and well as paired with a Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU, the CPU did really great. It ran at an average of 229 FPS on 1080p High preset with a peak of 283 FPS and a low of 130 FPS. We do not know if frame generation was used here, but the result was great and bodes well for the Ryzen 9000 CPUs which are due next month.
Meanwhile, Uniko’s Hardware took a screenshot of what appears to be a 16-core flagship Ryzen 9 9950X CPU with Zen 5 technology. This apparently means that retail chips are validated, and can be sold end of next month. Additionally, AMD has announced that these CPUs will work with present 600-series motherboards – meaning current users will have a straightforward upgrade path. The X870E/X870 reference motherboards are expected to offer an outstanding base to accommodate these processors, allowing them to perform and operate in the best conditions and with the greatest efficiency.

Using these technologies, AMD hopes to deliver a best-in-class experience by providing users with cutting-edge technology in an upgrade-friendly package.
The next-gen Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs from AMD which will include such chips as the Ryzen 9 9900X and the Ryzen 9 9950X “Zen 5” variants will offer a major performance uplift and elevate the gaming performance bar even higher on the PC front. Given they are about to launch soon, we can expect top-notch performance and support from them, making them a juicy option for both enthusiasts and gamers.
