## ***AMD Ryzen 9000G APUs Rumored for Q4 2025 – Strix Point Coming to Desktop?***

### **Ryzen 9000G APUs: What to Expect?**

The Ryzen 9000G series is expected to be the **desktop variant** of the **Strix Point** APUs that launched for laptops in late 2024. If AMD follows its usual trend, we can expect powerful desktop APUs with notable improvements in performance, core count, and graphics.

✅ **Core Architecture:**

- Based on **Zen 5 architecture**, the 9000G APUs could feature up to **12 cores and 24 threads**, a significant jump from the 8-core limit of previous desktop APUs.
- A hybrid core setup similar to **Strix Point**, combining 4 high-performance Zen 5 cores with 8 efficient Zen 5c cores, is expected.

✅ **Integrated Graphics:**

- Likely to feature the **Radeon 890M** iGPU, which comes with **16 RDNA 3.5 CUs** clocked at up to **2.9 GHz** in mobile variants. The desktop version may even push it to **3.0 GHz**.
- The lower-tier variants may use the **Radeon 880M** iGPU, providing great 1080p gaming capabilities.

✅ **DDR5 and AI Capabilities:**

- Built on the **AM5 platform**, the Ryzen 9000G APUs will support DDR5 memory, ensuring higher bandwidth for graphics and compute workloads.
- These APUs could also be **Microsoft Copilot+ certified**, thanks to an upgraded XDNA 2 NPU capable of delivering **50 TOPS of AI performance**.

### **Release Timeline and Naming Speculation**

According to leaks from **@9550pro** and **HXL**, AMD is expected to launch the Ryzen 9000G APUs for desktop by **Q4 2025**.

- **April 2025:** Ryzen 9000 desktop CPUs based on Zen 5 were launched.
- **Q4 2025:** Ryzen 9000G APUs likely to follow, bringing Strix Point technology to desktop platforms.

While the official nomenclature is not confirmed, AMD is likely to continue with the **“9000G”** branding, following the 8000G series launched earlier this year.

### **Performance Boost with RDNA 3.5 Graphics**

The **Radeon 890M** iGPU, expected in the Ryzen 9000G lineup, is the fastest integrated GPU in the Strix Point family. It features **16 RDNA 3.5 compute units (CUs)** and runs at a clock speed of **2.9 GHz** on mobile versions. For desktop variants, it could reach up to **3.0 GHz**, delivering impressive 1080p gaming performance.

Additionally, the Radeon 880M, with fewer CUs, could power entry-level variants, providing solid graphics for less demanding workloads.

### **Potential Strix Point Variants for Desktop**

- **Ryzen 9 9000G** – Up to 12 cores, 24 threads, Radeon 890M iGPU
- **Ryzen 7 9000G** – 8 cores, 16 threads, Radeon 880M iGPU
- **Ryzen 5 9000G** – 6 cores, 12 threads, entry-level RDNA 3.5 GPU

### **Future Outlook: Ryzen 9000G and Beyond**

The Ryzen 9000G series could be among AMD’s final Zen 5-based APUs before transitioning to **Zen 6** in 2026. With a potential **Gorgon Point** refresh planned for 2026, leveraging surplus Ryzen AI 300 silicon, AMD is poised to maintain its stronghold in the desktop APU market.
