The Ryzen 7040 APUs are already demonstrating robust performance against Intel Meteor Lake chips in leaked benchmarks, indicating that the Ryzen 8040 is likely to maintain a highly competitive position until the arrival of the true next-gen Strix Point APUs in the latter half of 2024.

Breaking down the specifications, the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS “100-000001319-50_Y” belongs to the AMD 8040 “Hawk Point” family, utilizing Zen 4 CPU, RDNA 3 GPU, and XDNA 1 NPU cores. The CPU is configured with 8 cores and 16 threads, featuring 16 MB of L3 cache, 8 MB of L2 cache, a base clock of 4.0 GHz, and a boost clock of 5.2 GHz.
