AMD Extends Mobile PC Leadership with Ryzen 8040 Series Processors and Makes Ryzen™ AI Software Widely Available, Advancing the AI PC Era
AMD has launched the cutting-edge Ryzen™ 8040 Series mobile processors, offering unmatched x86 processor performance and enhancing its AI PC offerings. These processors, featuring an integrated Ryzen AI NPU on select models, deliver up to 1.6x more AI processing performance than previous AMD models. AMD is also rolling out Ryzen AI3 software for users to create and deploy machine learning models seamlessly.
The Ryzen 8040 Series processors are set to be available from top OEMs including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Razer from Q1 2024. Jack Huynh, SVP and GM of AMD computing and graphics business, expressed that the increased AI capabilities of the 8040 series would handle larger models, ushering in the next phase of AI user experiences.
The Ryzen 9 8945HS processor, part of the 8040 series, promises up to 64% faster video editing, 37% faster 3D rendering, and 77% faster gaming performance. The processors are built on AMD “Zen 4” architecture and feature AMD RDNA™ 3 architecture-based Radeon™ graphics, making them ideal for creative professionals, gamers, and mainstream users seeking a high-performance laptop.
