Upcoming AMD Ryzen 7000X3D processors to launch at original Ryzen 7000 pricing

An interesting rumour has come up of late about the upcoming Ryzen 7000 processors with 3D V-Cache dubbed as Ryzen 7000X3D, launching in 2023 itself that their pricing will be revolutionary. Yes, you hear it right, these new CPUs with giant cache memory will cost the original price of the Ryzen 7000 processors, i.e. 8 core for $449, 12 core for $549 and 16 core for $799.

AMD Ryzen 7000

AMD Ryzen 7000X3D is incoming in 2023 – Over 200MB cache & up to 33% faster than Core i9-13900K

As we know, AMD originally launched these Zen 4-based chips back in September with these prices but as soon as Intel came up with their own Raptor Lake chips, AMD had no other option but to reduce pricing to stay competitive. Well, the move really supported AMD because as the AM5 platform costs are higher, this is a much-appreciated move.

After the price cuts, these AMD chips show a much better price-to-performance ratio than the 13th Gen Intel chips but yes in terms of multi-core performance for the lower-end SKUs, AMD is still behind Intel. Now, to tackle all this, AMD looks forward to introducing new Ryzen 7000X3D processors with Zen 4 at the heart but with the same 3D V-cache chip-stacking technology they introduced back with Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

Obviously, even during the Ryzen 7000 launch, we asked AMD regarding this Ryzen 7000X3D processor and officials said they cannot comment on this but didn’t rule them out completely. Now, as per multiple leaks and rumours, AMD is planning to launch these new & revolutionary chips even before our launch expectation timeline, at CES 2023 itself.

It makes because having lost the performance crown to Intel, the Red team will wait for no further to reclaim it and as they have implemented already, bringing it to Zen 4 with TSMC will be no big deal for AMD. So, the company is expected to launch 3 of these new Ryzen 7000X3D processors which include the 8-core Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X3D and 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X3D.

Based on the same AM5 platform, these chips as per rumours will cost the original price as the last 4 Ryzen 7000 processors they launched earlier, i.e. the Ryzen 7 7800X3D could retail for $449, Ryzen 9 7900X3D for $549 and Ryzen 9 7950X3D for $799. Yes, obviously these are rumours but have practicality indeed because these Ryzen 7000X3D processors are said to be up to 33% faster than the Core i9-13900K, we assume in terms of gaming.

In our Ryzen 7 5800X3D review, we saw great potential just via increasing cache in a new way but improvements in single-core or multi-core weren’t that great. However, we expect AMD to do some tweaks this time to show their performance dominance over Intel and with time we will know more about these upcoming AMD Ryzen 7000X3D processors which are said to launch at CES 2023 and make their way to market by March 2023.

This is pretty damn good of AMD to do because I have an R7-5800X3D and it’s amazing. Having said that, AMD is making a mistake by not having an R5-7600X3D because these CPUs are aimed at gamers and gamers won’t need more than six cores for a long time. If AMD had a six-core X3D CPU, they would OWN the PC gaming market.
