For its most recent Ryzen 7000 “Zen 4” CPU family for laptops, AMD has chosen to use orange logos. In an effort to help users distinguish between the new Zen 4 and earlier Zen-powered laptops, AMD has introduced new orange logos. Older Zen CPU architectures for laptops will retain the silver and orange logo, with “Ryzen 7000” still written for them, while the new Zen 4 lineups and future APUs will have an orange-colored logo.

The new labelling system should make it easier for customers to select a laptop, particularly from an online retailer. Customers have discovered the casual and accessible nature of online shopping while purchasing computers and mobile devices on several occasions.

Unfortunately, some retailers will fail to display the appropriate pictures of the products they are selling, which will irritate some customers due to inaccurate posting or ignorance. Retailers will be strongly encouraged to concentrate on distinctive marketing by the new label.

AMD has made a special effort to educate customers on both the newest generation of processors and those that employ older architecture.

The business accomplishes this through the model-numbering system it uses. The first digit denotes the model year (for example, 7 denotes the year 2023), the second the market segment, the third the architecture, the fourth whether it is a budget-friendly or premium model, and the final the form factor and TDP of the series.

This was a part of the newer labelling system, but the fact that the Ryzen 7000 series includes several product families with variable architecture makes the lineup a little confusing for general consumers. Although AMD has made an effort to streamline things, it appears that improvements won’t come for another generation or two.
