TSAIK, an MSI team overclocker, has managed to push AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor above the 5 GHz fundamental milestone. There was a lot of speculation regarding whether or not this processor would be overclockable before it was released, so these achievements are all the more impressive.

Wccftech brought released records of the TSAIK’s AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU-Z verified clock speed achievement, which was 5.14178 GHz. The result is a significant step up from the HWBot confirmed world record of 4.74 GHz set by ScatterBencher, AKA Massman, which we published recently.

The 5.14 GHz overclock of AMD’s 3D V-Cache enabled processor by TSAIK didn’t provide much context. The CPU-Z validation screen, on the other hand, reveals some intriguing details. The configuration differs from Massman’s, which uses a 104 MHz BCLK and a 1.294V core voltage.

It will overclock not just your CPU, but also many other components attached to the motherboard, and some of these components are sensitive to stress. Furthermore, if you push the BCLK away from the expected value of 100 MHz, you risk introducing “RTC Bugs” and jeopardising system stability.

We are yet to see more from AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU

Given the limitations of BCLK overclocking, it’s possible that TSAIK, who has a sizable following on HWBot, hasn’t yet uploaded this AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D clock speed to the site and hasn’t done anything with it other than run CPU-Z validator.

As a member of the MSI team, TSAIK gets access to the company’s greatest components, and the motherboard responsible for the 5.14 GHz overclock was the enticing MSI MEG X570 Godlike. The motherboard was running the 1.G5T2 BIOS (AGESA 1.2.0.6 Patch C), however it’s possible that MSI facilitated some under-test BIOS adjustments for its in-house OC specialist that improved the Ryzen 7 5800X3D’s overclocking capabilities.

its certain that there are more thrilling accomplishments to be accomplished with the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which is a one-of-a-kind PC gaming champion. In the next weeks, updated BIOS files and extra efforts from the extreme overclocking community may result in more surprise overclocking and benchmarking records from this CPU.
