A few days ago we reported the official announcement of the [AMD Ryzen 9 5900](https://technosports.co.in/2021/04/09/amd-silently-launches-ryzen-9-5900-with-up-to-4-7ghz-65w-tdp-as-oem-only-cpu/) to be an OEM exclusive CPU and we have the same fate with its 8-core brother – the Ryzen 7 5800. AMD did this last time as well, reserving the value-for-money low TDP CPUs for OEMs only.

At the start of the year, we did get a hint of this as well as the leaked specs of both of these CPUs, however, now we can genuinely say both of them are now available in broad daylight. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800 along with the Ryzen 9 5900 have been spotted on Alienware’s [configuration website](https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/gaming-and-games/alienware-aurora-ryzen-edition-r10-gaming-desktop/spd/alienware-aurora-r10-desktop/wdryzr10v11h?view=configurations&configurationid=5bf49c14-141f-4816-9bcd-f92033cf2ecf) for the Aurora Ryzen Edition gaming desktops.

The new Ryzen 7 5800 is almost similar to its brother [Ryzen 7 5800X](https://technosports.co.in/2021/01/28/amd-ryzen-7-5800x-review-fastest-8-core-amd-gaming-cpu-but-at-a-cost/) we reviewed earlier but with a low TDP of 65W and clock speeds of 3.4 GHz base and 4.6 GHz boost. Apart from these minor changes, everything else remains similar like the 32 MB of L3 cache and 4 MB of L2 cache.

It makes sense to use the more efficient Zen 3 cores on pre-built PCs, which require low TDP, and this is why again AMD has made both of these processors OEM exclusive. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800 configuration is $150 cheaper than the Ryzen 7 5800X configuration, while the Ryzen 9 5900 is a whopping $300 cheaper than the [Ryzen 9 5900X](https://technosports.co.in/2021/04/11/amd-ryzen-9-5900x-review-the-best-gaming-cpu-in-the-market/)configuration.

So, you do not lose much by opting for the non-X Ryzen counterparts and on top of that these CPUs draw less TDP, offering better efficiency.
