AMD Ryzen 5000 series in details: up to 16 cores and 32 threads with a 19% IPC uplift, starts at $299

Get your hands-on with the next-gen AMD Ryzen 5000 processors based on new Zen 3 architecture

The Red team has finally dropped its Zen 3 architecture-based Ryzen 5000 processors that promises strong performance improvements over last-gen. With a remarkable 19% IPC increases YoY, i.e. with Ryzen 3000 series, the Zen 3 architecture is an incredible feat what AMD has achieved.

So, detailing the specs of these new powerful processors, AMD Ryzen 5000 is indeed focused on the company’s weak part or single-core performance. With better IPC uplift, the gaming performance of these processors should increase naturally.

AMD even promises a 26% generational uplift in gaming performance, compared with the new Ryzen 9 5900X desktop processor against the last-gen Ryzen 9 3900XT in 11 popular titles at 1080p. That’s incredible news for gamers who had to choose Intel or AMD till now, and you still get AMD’s best-in-class multi-threaded performance and 7nm efficiency as well.

This is all because of the new Zen 3 microarchitecture that reduces latency from accelerated core and cache communication and doubles the directly accessible L3 cache per core while delivering up to 2.8X more performance-per-watt versus Intel. So both gamers and content creators will benefit from these new processors.
