AMD’s RX 9070 XT has maintained strong sales momentum since its launch, selling rapidly worldwide. It’s no surprise that the Radeon RX 9070 series quickly went out of stock after release. It is the first time that AMD not just beat its own generations, but also NVIDIA in terms of sales. AMD has confirmed that they already sold 10 times the units of AMD’s previous efforts, while RX 9070 XT is proving hard to come by for retailers thanks to high demand.

AMD RX 9070 XT Sees Record Sales, Outselling NVIDIA RTX 50 Series Despite Higher Prices

One of the biggest retailers in Germany — Mindfactory — has shared some impressive sales figures for the RX 9070 XT. There are various models from €795 (including VAT), while prices without VAT range from $715 to $764—significantly above the official MSRP. Despite the premium pricing, various models have sold dozens of units on the first day of the week alone.

On March 24, combined sales of the Radeon RX 9070 XT reached approximately 105 units across different models, including the PowerColor RX 9070 XT Hellhound with 40 units built, the PowerColor RX 9070 XT Quicksilver with 20 units, the XFX RX 9070 XT Mercury RGB OC with 30 units, the XFX RX 9070 XT Mercury RGB OC White with 20 units and the XFX RX 9070 XT Mercury Magnetic Air RGB OC with 10 units, reached approximately 105 units. Overall, a total of 110 units had been sold — a couple more sold on the following day.

Conversely, the RTX 50 series from NVIDIA has combined sales well below that. The RX 5070 Ti, which competes directly with the RX 9070 XT, is presently selling for $250–$300 more and has sold 10 units. Though the RTX 5070 Ti gives better performance in a vacuum, its price difference from that of the RX 9070 XT makes it a better deal. After all that, the GeForce RTX 5090 is the best-selling GPU, although it has only sold 20 units.

Availability and a considerably higher price are factors. The Palit RTX 5090 GameRock edition is listed at €2,990 (around $2,690 excluding VAT), which is a lower price point than the $3,000+ mark we’ve seen in some regions, although certainly relatively expensive.
