AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XT continues to fall in price, and the most recent discounts bring it up to par with the MSRP of the RTX 4070 Ti. Retailers have aggressively reduced the price of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT in recent months.
The price of the card was recently reduced to $830 USD. The same cards can now be purchased for as little as $799 USD, bringing the total discount to $100 USD, or 11% off the MSRP. This price decrease can be attributed to the card’s lower-than-expected sales, as the flagship remains priced at $999 US+.
The ASRock Phantom Gaming, which costs $799.99 US at Newegg, and the reference variant from XFX, which costs $819 US at Amazon, are the specific AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics cards that have seen discounts.
In the UK, OCUK has reduced the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT to £799.99, and certain deals can also be found across leading EU retailers.
At the same price point, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT GPU will now compete directly with the RTX 4070 Ti. Even though the 7900 XT has more VRAM and slightly better performance (rasterization), gamers prefer the RTX 4070 Ti over the RDNA 3 graphics cards.
The Radeon RX 7900 XT is not only cheaper than its MSRP, but it is also in stock, indicating that gamers aren’t buying it. The reasons could be attributed to the 4070 Ti’s overall gaming performance in ray tracing, as well as the DLSS performance, which may be a deal-breaker for some.
