The AMD Navi 33 is not a high-end GPU, but it is also not an entry-level GPU. The GPU is rather small (204 mm2), but it contains 13.3 billion transistors, which is 10% more than some older high-end GPUs like the NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti.
The latest discrete mobile GPU based on this Navi 33 CPU is the AMD Radeon RX 7700S. It was installed in the ASUS TUF A16 gaming laptop. Although there is no official TUF Dash gaming laptop, the product code appears to match the latest 2023 TUF A16 Advantage Edition (FA617) system revealed at CES 2023. This gaming laptop supports up to a Ryzen 7000HS Phoenix “Zen4” CPU and a Radeon RX 7700S GPU.
This model uses Zen3 Rembrandt silicon, specifically Ryzen 5 7535HS with 6 cores and 12 threads.
In addition, Radeon RX 7700S graphics with 2048 Streaming Processors and 8GB GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus were introduced.
The 7700S appears to be 12% quicker than its predecessor based on the RDNA2 architecture. Furthermore, the GPU is only 3% slower than the GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU.
It is too early to draw conclusions based just on this little test. After all, we don’t even have the TGP specs of the GPUs utilised in any of those tests, which can have a significant impact on ultimate performance.
