AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT OpenCL Benchmarks leaked

In our previous article, we discussed the leaked specs of the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT which seems to launch as early as next week. Though we have some assumptions and leaked specs and now we have some leaked OpenCL benchmarks that give us an idea of the card’s real-world performance.

The RX 5500 XT has been benchmarked against the new GTX 1650 Super that poses the faster GDDR6 memory and is providing better performance in its price segment. The AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT will be a Navi 14 based GPU with 11 CUs and 1.72 GHz maximum frequency.

The AMD GPU is rumoured to be available in both options of 4GB GDDR6 VARM and 8GB memory options. Here we have a Geekbench 4 comparison of the RX 5500 XT with 8GB VRAM against the GTX 1650 Super with 4GB GDDR6 memory.

As we see in the OpenCL tests, the GTX 1650 Super has a small edge over the RX 55000 XT in all of the tests in the benchmark. Though we cannot judge the gaming performance of the card on the basis of the productivity benchmarks which solely depends on the platform, API used and the architecture of the GPU.

In the Geekbench 5 test, we also see the GTX 1650 Super leading than the Navi GPU which is strongly due to NVIDIA’s superior CUDA platform and for the presence of more Compute Units. As we all know that the new Super GPU gives great 1080p gaming performance in modern titles and we expect the same with the AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT as well.

The real-world gaming performance only can give the fair idea for gamers to which GPU to go for and what pricing would they get the GPUs.
