In the same way, NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1650 has recently been compared to AMD’s Radeon 890M “RDNA 3.5” Integrated GPU which shows higher gaming performance. Earlier in the week, we covered how the Radeon 890M fared against Intel’s Arc Xe GPU lineup inside Meteor Lake CPUs with some pretty impressive performance and lower power input to keep it within spec. TechEpiphany has now provided new benchmarks comparing the fully unleashed Radeon 890M iGPU with NVIDIA’s desktop GeForce GTX 1650.
More About the AMD Radeon 890M RDNA 3.5
Tests are run using the same setup across all benchmarks–an ASUS VivoBook 16 laptop with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX370 APU and 32 GB of LPDDR5x-7500 memory. The Radeon 890M was tested with a TDP between 45 and 60W, respectively for reference the GTX1650 version of several mainstream cards is launched on three mobile graphic lines that used composite benchmarks in desktop system AMD Ryzen 7-5800X3D compared to the discrete graphics card “GTX650” performance.
Performance-wise, the Radeon 890M “RDNA 3.5” iGPU was shown to have frame rates akin to that of a GTX 1650 in Devil May Cry 5 at full HD (High), with some benchmarks beating or trailing by just 5-10 FPS. The iGPU even outpaced the GTX 1650 in God of War at 1080p OG. In Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice at 1080p (High), the Radeon 890M was even ahead of our desktop card.
In Cyberpunk 2077 (Low) at 1080p, the Radeon RX5th Gen outperformed NVIDIA’s GTX by up to +45%. The iGPU was as much as 2x faster in Robocop (1080p; Low) and between a modest 5-10% ahead of the GTX 1650 in The First Descendant test (Medium) behind. In Forza Horizon 5 at 1080p (High) the RDNA 3.5 architecture was more than a third faster when compared to the previous-generation GTX 1650.
The only thing different happened with Tom Raider 2013 when the Radeon 890M was slightly behind GTX1650 and lost to Shadow of The Tomb Router. The RDNA 3.5 architecture itself is still very new and future driver improvements could potentially narrow this disparity a great deal. Overall, these benchmarks highlight the strong performance of AMD’s latest RDNA 3.5 iGPUs in mobile platforms.
