The Red team has recently confirmed via Frank Azor, their Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions, that AMD will be releasing Radeon drivers for their old RX 6000 series GPUs and even older ones. They also aim to launch new drivers within the next 2 weeks and they are trying to post as soon as possible.
Radeon drivers for RDNA2 & older GPUs are incoming!
Frank even went on to reply that their new driver updates will be targeted for all its entire portfolios of GPUs, however, the specific focus is on the older GPUs. As both the new RX 7900 models have already received four consecutive drivers but it’s been months since AMD launched any driver for the older cards.
The last AMD Radeon 22.11.2 driver for pre-RX 7000 series cards has been a WHQL release and we personally have faced a lot of crashes and bugs in various games. While AMD has always been particular about its updates, this kind of behaviour is not natural, however, speaking out publicly about a new driver is on the way is very kind of AMD though.
