AMD makes the Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Cooled Edition official

As an answer to the RTX 3080 Ti, AMD was adamant to launch something into the GPU market, even though we aren’t sure its stock would be up to the demand. However, this GPU was leaked for quite some time now and it was obvious that AMD would launch a special Liquid Cooled Edition soon.

So, now AMD has officially unveiled its flagship GPU from the game-changing Radeon RX 6000 series, the RX 6900 XT LC. Much like the leaked pics, the design remains the same, as you have a hybrid cooling solution attached to an external 120mm radiator that comes with a single fan.

You have almost no changes compared to the vanilla Radeon RX 6900 XT we reviewed earlier, but the much-required liquid cooling helps push the GPU further. So, in terms of compute units, VRAM and infinity cache, you have no change; however, the card has a game clock of 2250 MHz and a boost clock of 2435 MHz.

This is in accordance with the leaks we have spotted earlier and yes, the Radeon RX 6900 XT LC’s TBP has been increased to 330W. Now, this will be accompanied with a faster memory, up to 18 Gbps and will increase the maximum bandwidth to 576 GB/s.

So, altogether, this should bring a slight upscale to the performance we saw with the vanilla Radeon RX 6900 XT, and it will be important to see how it stacks up against the new RTX 3080 Ti. AMD has not yet disclosed any official availability of the GPU neither its MSRP but it will be limited to system integrators for now and has already been announced by USJapanese and UK-based retailers.
